Welcome to Phendeling Center for Tibetan Buddhisme, located on Nørregade in Copenhagen, just opposite the Church of Our Lady (Vor Frue Kirke) and a stone's throw away from Gammel Torv and Strøget.

WHAT IS PHENDELING?
Phendeling means "a place for nurturing peace and harmony" and is also the name of Lakha Lama's monastery in Batang, Tibet.

Phendeling's primary function is to offer the entire Buddhist community a place where meditation, meetings, and courses - as well as cultural activities - can be held. Our temple is decorated and arranged in such a manner that all Tibetan groups will feel welcome.

Phendeling is a non-profit organization whose board consists of members from various Buddhist traditions who have some connection to Lakha Lama, Phendeling's spiritual leader.

Phendeling has been recognized by the Danish authorities as a religious organization and therefore can perform weddings.

PHENDELING'S SPIRITUAL LEADER
Lakha Lama was born in Tibet. At the age of five, he was crowned as the reincarnation of the Lama of Batang, the spiritual leader for more than the 100,000 living in Eastern Tibet.

Lakha Lama moved to Denmark in 1976. Since his arrival, he has coached and helped many through courses, lectures, and private sessions.

Lakha Lama is deeply engaged in social and cultural projects. He is the founder of and chairman for Tibet Charity and has arranged H. H. Dalai Lama's visit to Denmark in 1996, 2000, and 2003.

Membership: DKR 250/yr.
Supporting membership: DKR 100/mo.

Phendeling is also available for other groups:
Fee: DKR 100/hr. (weekdays, with a minimum charge of DKR. 500); DKR 2800/weekend (Saturday and Sunday). Cleaning can be also arranged for a set fee if you don't want to clean after your arrangement. FUNDING
Phendeling is a non-profit organization. Its financial basis is membership fees and donations. Income from rental fees contributes to maintaining the center. Gifts and donations, including supporting memeberships, are tax exempt by Danish law.
